Allergy Tasmania is a clinical, educational and research service based at Medical on Macquarie. The main activity is a primary care allergy clinic that uses evidence-based diagnosis and management of allergic disorders in children and adults.
The doctors provide extensive education and provision of resources during individual allergy consultations. They are also available for group, school and public talks.
In conjunction with the University of Tasmania, The Asthma Foundation of Tasmania and Sense-T we are involved in a number of clinical research projects on asthma, the use smart phone technology to track pollen and the optimal role of desensitisation.
The Allergy Clinic
The Primary Care Allergy Clinic is run by experienced GPs who have a special interest in allergy including conditions such as asthma, hayfever, eczema , urticaria (hives) and anaphylaxis.
We use scientific methods for diagnosis based on guidelines provided by the Australian Society for Clinical Immunology & Allergy (ASCIA). The doctors are associate members of ASCIA.
Currently the clinic runs on Tuesday and Thursday, appointments can be made by calling Reception – 6223 3133.
